1. About the service

Awaaz, available at awaaz.isharankumar.com, is a live-radio discovery and listening interface. Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@isharankumar.com. By using Awaaz, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, stop using the service. Awaaz is intended for users aged 18 or older.

2. What you can expect

You may choose a language, optional mood or location, and matching radio stations. Broadcasters choose individual songs, spoken segments, and adverts. You can also choose audio files from your own device for local playback. Awaaz does not offer on-demand selection from radio broadcasts, song downloads, or offline FM reception. Station descriptions, language labels, location, song metadata, and lyrics can be incomplete or inaccurate. A location match identifies the station’s reported origin; it does not guarantee where every song comes from.

Live radio and opening the web interface require an internet connection. Android’s native Open with player and Android Auto local-file playback can work without a stream connection when the selected files remain available on the phone. Your mobile provider’s data charges may apply. Rare languages, particular filters, or temporary outages can result in no available radio stream. We may change or discontinue features and third-party integrations.

3. Permitted use

Use Awaaz lawfully for personal listening. Do not interfere with other listeners, overload APIs, bypass access restrictions, exploit vulnerabilities, impersonate the service, or use it to infringe others’ rights. Do not record, redistribute, sell, or publicly rebroadcast content unless you have the rights and any permissions required by the relevant provider and law.

Free access to a station does not grant commercial, business-premises, public-performance, or redistribution rights. If you plan to use music in a shop, office, event, or another public or commercial setting, obtain the necessary content permissions separately.

4. Independent content and intellectual property

Radio streams, recordings, compositions, lyrics, and third-party names belong to their respective rights holders. Awaaz does not claim ownership of them. Radio Browser provides directory information; stations control their broadcasts. Lyrics are displayed only when reported metadata and a matching provider result are available.

Awaaz’s own branding and interface may not be used to misrepresent an affiliation or create an unauthorized copy of this service. Open-source software remains subject to its applicable licenses. If you believe content or a link infringes your rights, contact us with the station/page URL, a description of the work and concern, your contact details, and information about your authority to make the request.

5. Android playback, updates, and alerts

Background listening can continue when you press Home or lock the screen. In APK 1.0.6 and later, removing Awaaz from Recents stops music and releases the playback service; you must reopen the app and press Play to listen again. Android force-stop also stops playback. Manufacturer battery rules can affect background behavior.

Update alerts are optional. Background release checks can be delayed by Android, offline status, or notification settings. Downloads and installation require your action; Android controls installation approval. Installing a compatible APK signed with the same key updates the existing app and normally preserves its data. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted playback during installation or recovery of data after device resets, data clearing, or uninstalling.

Administrator announcements are optional. Only listeners who enable them receive these messages through Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can turn them off in Awaaz or your device/browser notification settings. Message delivery depends on connectivity, Google services, and device permissions.

6. Privacy and external services

Our Privacy Policy explains local preferences, optional location, update checks, and technical requests. Broadcaster, directory, lyrics, map, hosting, and network services have their own terms and policies. Links and integrations do not mean we control or endorse all third-party content or practices.

7. Availability and responsibility

Awaaz is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not warrant uninterrupted availability, exact station matching, complete metadata, or suitability for a particular purpose. Use appropriate volume levels and avoid interacting with the app while driving or doing anything that requires your full attention.

To the extent permitted by law, Awaaz is not responsible for losses caused by independent broadcasters, third-party outages, network charges, or misuse of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including any protections applicable to you.

8. Changes, complaints, and applicable law

We may update these terms; the date above identifies the current version. Material product changes will be described in a release notice. If revised terms are unacceptable, stop using the affected service. We may restrict abusive or unlawful use where necessary to protect the service or comply with law.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, subject to any mandatory rights and protections that apply where you live. Please contact us first to try to resolve a concern. This does not prevent you from using an applicable consumer, regulatory, or court process.

Optional accounts

You must be 18 or older to register. Provide an email address you control and verify it before signing in. Keep your password, authenticator setup key and recovery codes private. You are responsible for activity on your account; notify hello@isharankumar.com if you suspect unauthorized access. Security emails are necessary to operate an account. Do not automate or abuse account forms, bypass security controls, or access another person’s data. You can delete your account at any time; listening remains available without registration.
